Dr Sarah Dominguez

I’ve been striving to make people’s lives better since 2000, when I started working as a teacher. I worked in schools in Australia, England and Nepal, and my experience in education showed me that individuals can heal and thrive with the right attention and care – along with a good, solid strategy.

That steered me towards a career in psychology, during which I’ve continued to research, publish and upskill. Since 2009 I’ve been adopting the best evidence-based therapies – along with ample doses of compassion and insight – to help support clients on their road to wellness.

In my clinical work, I see people with a range of needs, and I tailor treatment plans to suit each individual. I support people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including those with depression, eating disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder. I use a trauma informed approach, including EMDR, schema therapy and imagery rescripting.

I’m an EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) accredited consultant and trainer. I strongly support equitable access to the highest quality evidence-based interventions, and am pleased to offer supervision, consultation and training to therapists across Australia.

I currently serve on the EMDRAA board and am a member of the EMDRAA Accreditation and Standards Committee, I am also on the committee of the Australian Psychological Society EMDR Interest Group.  Internationally, I am part of the EMDR Council of Scholars.

I’m also a dog lover, a regular at my surf club and my swim squad, and a member of a large, loud family.
